I take my enthusiasm seriously for wasting a meal on pancakes that are nothing short of amazing. Rest assured, I’m not going to share with you a cake recipe that I never really adore. My standards are very high.

Given how deep my love for waffles is, it’s time to share my ultimate list of best waffle recipes with you.

I’ve been making waffles for a long time and have discovered that while everyone has their own preferences for their favorite waffle recipes, there are a few things all great waffles have in common.

The luxurious waffle is crunchy on the outside (but never greasy or greasy!) with a fluffy, smooth texture on the inside. The best waffle recipe is one that doesn’t crumble when you try to remove it from the iron but doesn’t get hard and thick as it cools.

This is our favorite recipe and is also the basis for countless sweet and savory waffle combos right here on the website. This recipe is from the Weekday Lunch and Breakfast cookbook and is a favorite of anyone who tries it.

Gluten Free Homemade Pancakes Recipe

Light, crunchy on the inside and soft on the inside, waffles are a year-round favorite in our home. My family has been making pancakes along with my grandmother’s waffle sauce since long before I was born. I was happy to discover that the pancakes and sauce freeze beautifully, which makes this a takeaway brunch dream come true.

The added starches in the gluten-free version of this recipe make it crispier on the outside. I may be guilty of loving the gluten-free recipe more than the original recipe, but both are really delicious.

Kitchen tip: I love the double Belgian waffle iron for making large batches of waffles in no time at all!
